OZONE IN AIR
- In the Kitchen: Ozone creates a germ free and sanitary environment in which to prepare food.
In gaseous form ozone is a far more effective sanitiser than conventional cleaning methods as it is able to reach all the areas typically missed in routine cleaning such as behind fridges, in the grouting between tiles and underneath counters.
Ozone also tends to discourage insects.
- Around Waste/Trash Collectors: Eliminate nuisance odors.
Ozone is the most effective way of eliminating potential hygiene problems and neutralising unpleasant odors.
Pests such as mites, fleas, cockroaches, flies and mosquitoes are repelled.
- Housekeeping: Ozone is used in hotel rooms to completely remove odors.
With proper care and use of the onboard timer it is an effortless and safe process. In this manner odors caused through smoking, alcohol spills and even mouldy bathroom smells can be eliminated.
Air purifiers are also popular permanent additions to many hotel rooms, bars, shops, offices, and commercial reception areas.
- Restaurants, Bars, Around Smokers or After Fire Damage: Ozone neutralises odors and is especially effective in ridding air of cigarette smoke, even if it has permeated furnishings.
- Paired with your HVAC System: Improving the quality of air by treating the incoming air, ducted in via air conditioning systems creates a more comfortable environment for everyone.
- In the Office: You and your staff feel better when you have clean air to breathe. Staff performance is better when breathing fresh air. It has also been proven that with improved air quality, the number of sick days goes down.
- When purifying air: As ozone purifies air and reacts with smoke, mold, pollutants, and bacteria, it will turn back to oxygen. If there is more ozone than impurities, it will remain as ozone for some time until it naturally breaks down into oxygen. If a bleachy irritating odor is present,
the ozone level is too high! If the air smells bleachy temporarily turn the ozone generator off.
Before purifying air for the first time, it is recommended to "shock treat" the air by leaving the space, releasing an intentionally too high level of ozone, and giving it some time to treat air andbreak down.
OZONE IN WATER
- Which is better: adding ozone, reverse osmosis, filtering, or distilation of water? All these methods perform different functions in water.
No matter what method you choose it is still a great idea to ozonate water as the last stage to ensure water is free from bacteria and viruses.
The FDA has approved the use of ozonated water to help cleanse food, and all bottled water in the United States is ozonated.
- Ozone is a neutral gas that does not affect water pH.
- Ozonation of water does not add any chemicals. Ozone is 100% Oxygen. That is all it is adding to the water.
- Ozone can be used to control unpleasant tastes and smells.
- Ozone does not create carcinogenic by-products during water treatment.
- Ozone generators need no chemical refilling.
- Ozone production is an organic process, thus environmentally friendly.
- Eliminates color from water caused by iron, manganese and tannins.
- Reduces cloudiness (solids in suspension) in water treatment.
- Reduces the chemical and biological demands of oxygen.
- Eliminates detergents and other non-biodegradable chemicals from water.
- Ozone does NOT soften water or remove rust or calcium. If desired, water should be softened and filtered before it reaches the water ozonator (purifier).
- Is a powerful disinfectant in water, killing pathogenic bacteria, inactive viruses and chlorine-resistant micro-organisms.
- Ozone will break apart chlorine, leaving water safer for the environment and for you, and more pleasant to taste.
- Because ozone will kill bacteria and viruses and gives you an extra level of protection.
Ozone should be the final stage in water treatment to ensure your water is bacteria free.
- In higher concentrations, ozonated water is an amazing surface cleaner/disinfectant, especially in areas where meat is handled, or medical/laboratory levels of cleanliness is required.
- Ozone in Personal Care: Legally no one is allowed to make claims that there is a medical or therapudic value in using ozonated water. However, there is infomation available from a variety of sources, including the Internet, that suggest drinking ozonated water, treating skin with ozonated oils and lotions, applying pure ozone to wounds, and bathing in ozonated water may be good for you. We encourage you to seek out this information on your own.
